The job

Somewhere out there, a truck is lost. A Scania, a Volvo, a Renault; the badge on the grille makes no difference. What matters is that it has pulled onto the hard shoulder, the sat nav has given up, and the only thing anyone can tell you is what the driver can see out of the windscreen.

That is where you come in. Read the road markings. Count the lanes. Look at the signage, the crash barriers, the shape of the hills behind. Then put a pin on the map and send them home.

You are the sat nav now, and you are considerably better than the one in the cab.
